updates

I have pictures, but have not been home to upload anything in a couple of days. Let me just say the surgery went great! The fractures were not as bad as they had originally thought. The surgery on the ORBITAL bone (not OCCIPITAL which I think I typed before?) was very quick, less than half an hour. Cameron got a little meshy titanium plate about the size of an adult thumbnail just under his eye. 6 stitches there plus another in a cut in the corner of his eye that had not been visible before. He slept most of the night, but woke up mostly pain free, looking great, slightly more swollen in that eye, but everywhere else is looking much better! Yay! Two thumbs up!

He's been in great spirits today, and in fact, he's wearing me out cuz I can't keep him down anymore. He goes to the play room every chance he gets (walking there on his own now), we read, play games, eat eat eat (there goes my weight loss!) and then whilst he sleeps soundly at night, I'm up and sore and unable to sleep. Last night, I swear there were two or three crying babies next door simultaneously and they were LOUD!

Our new roommates are horrible horrible people--they came in at 9pm and the couple is constantly bickering and fighting with one another and cursing. Thank heavens Cameron was asleep for most of that! Not something I want to deal with today.

According to the trauma dept, Cameron has been released, but they want to keep him here until the plastic surgeon can release him. I hear he is a very busy man, servicing his own office and two hospitals. So there is still a possibility that he could come by tonight. Considering he didn't finish up with Cameron until well after 8p last night, I guess anything's possible. But at the latest, Trauma said they'd let us go completely tomorrow morning. =)

Danny took his big test he'd been stressing about all weekend long and only got a 95%. Can you believe that? Yay Dan!! We may have to both go home tonight and come back myself with the van, leaving the truck for Danny to go to school in in the morning. If we're going to be released early, I don't want to have to wait until after 5 when he gets off.

So far, I hear my boys are doing great. Thanks so much to the Heathers for watching them!! Ethan got a little homesick today when I talked to him on the phone, but honestly, I think they're both having a blast and will be slightly disappointed to return home. LOL! I miss them!

As for me, my neck started REALLY hurting yesterday and today I can barely move it. I hope it gets better, but I'm afraid I may have injured it. Fun times.

Thanks for all your calls and for your help and prayers! Love you all!

Hey glad to hear everything is looking a lot better. You really hate hospital roommates. I know I did. Glad Cameron was not up for all that. Better get some ear plugs for yourself. Hopefully you get come home tonight.

Congrats to Danny for getting such a high grade.

My prayers and thought are with you guys.

Oh - if you're bored, I'd totally get a straw & some paper & blow spitwads at them over the curtain every time I heard a cuss word! LOL! Glad the surgery went well! If you need a ride home early tomorrow - call me - 703.9278! I'm serious! (if you don't get a chance to get your van back tonight!)

So glad that everything went well, and that Danny got such a great score, considering the weekend you've all had. I'll be thinking of you!

I'm so glad that things are going well. Make sure you get your neck seen so that if it is injured youcan have the doctors costs included in the insurance settlement. Both DJ and I had severe nerve damage from our accident and all I can say is praise to the chiropractor! There is a great one in Surprise I'll dig out their number for you if you need it. So happy to hear things are getting better.

I'm glad the kids are doing better. I have a great heating pad for the microwave that you can have. It's yours if you need it. I'm sorry that you have to deal with the pain yourself. Right now you're in automatic pilot, but I know when you get home, you'll feel it even more and then have the kiddos to run after. Please, please, call for anything.

Yeah for Dan getting such a terrific score. I don't know how he did it with all the worring and stress.

We're here for you Amie. :)
