the last 5 days

I worked on this layout this afternoon (click for a bigger pic)--it's not my favorite, but I do like the ribbons and the stitching and the Queen & Co. felt that I'm using for the first time. (for those unaware, it's the red wave of flowers along the bottom--it comes in a flower shaped roll of 4x12 inches and I just cut off and around the shape I wanted) I'm going to have to do some experimenting to try different things with this stuff...it's pretty neat!

In other news, I have finally uploaded my pictures from the baptism weekend. I didn't get too many good ones on my own camera, but my friend Christine took some on hers that I hope to get soon. (thanks, Christine! how's that coming?) Here's one of my own after the baptism was done. (and one of Danny and Sean practicing the night before) It went perfectly--having family in town is always so fun and busy and kept our schedule full while they were here. Thanks so much for the grandmas and grandpas who visited and made Sean feel special! He says he doesn't feel different yet, but I know he'll feel those little whisperings of the Holy Ghost when he needs it. =)

School starts in 6 days and just about all of us are thrilled about that! Sean says the summer went so fast, but both Cameron and Ethan are too excited about going back! I told them we had to run to the school real quick to pick something up and both of them met me at the car with backpacks and lunchboxes! Not yet boys, a few more days.

My inlaws took us out to see the Bourne Ultimatum on Saturday night (and paid for the babysitter too, yesssss!!) and we really enjoyed it! Make sure you start with number one so you can follow along! Good stuff and some really great action scenes. One fight scene I swear lasted 10 minutes--and to think that each and every move is choreographed and practiced over and over...wow!

For FHE last night, we had a whole lesson about temples and the importance of keeping our bodies and spirits clean so that we can always be worthy to go. It was a great lesson! Then we started something to help us remember to always read scriptures together as a family and say our family prayer each night. (We do it, we're just not consistent) What we did is made a chart with 30 days blocked out. It's called 30 Days to a New Trampoline: We Read and Pray Every Day! We have to consistently read and pray for 30 days without missing and at the end of the 30 days, we'll replace our trampoline pad <----it died about a month before our accident but we've been too distracted to replace it. We figure this way, we have a goal and we'll develop better reading and studying habits while at it. Wish us luck! After FHE, we took the Neilsens some cookies as we knew they'd have their 8th baby any day now. And wouldn't ya know it, I got a call this morning that she was on the way to the hospital. Yay Dottie and Greg and family! Congrats!

Great post! I love the layout! I've seen the Queen & Co. stuff in mags and yesterday at Recollections... I think it's so cute! I'm so glad you posted pictures from Sean's baptism! How fun! I remember practicing with my grandpa in our backyard. It's one of my favorite memories. Hooray for Dottie! I know it's a little early, but at least they had the steroid treatment for the lungs a while ago and she lasted up to 37 weeks, right? That's so great! 8 babies! Can you even imagine??? Whew!

Hi Amie, I love the felt, I think you inspired me to buy some of it. I also want to see the Bourne U. so I am glad to hear you thought it was good. Congrats on the baptism also. Take care, Tammi

Hi Amie,
You, Heidi, and me all baptized our kids recently! Sheesh, EVERYONE is baptizing kids! LOL!
Cute idea on the Scripture reading! :)
Where DO you get the big black part to the trampoline? You know, the jumpy part. Ours died a few months ago and we need to get a new one for the fall/winter. Any ideas?
