twenty-twelve and counting

I'm feeling a bit out of it today because I've come down with a pretty hefty cold--first all in my head and sinuses and now in my chest. I'm coughing and hacking all the live long day. {shoulda heard me at choir}

Anyway, after a really restless night, I got up and read my book "Pretties" by Scott Westerfield, #2 in a trilogy, and finally hit the hay around 1am. Tired today, but I actually feel a bit better. I think this cold will move thru me quickly--usually I'm sick for a month.

Icky feeling and all, yesterday was Dan's birthday, so we still had to celebrate! We actually did so on Saturday when I set up an impromptu 'hunt' for his gift. I called a bunch of friends in the area and had him to do fun things at each place to get the next clue/location in the hunt for his present. The fun things included:

reciting a favorite scripture, and why
singing a primary song in spanish
cleaning someone's window
taking out someone's trash
doing the chicken dance
singing "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam" with actions
getting a 'Bella' tattoo
and singing "I'm a Little Teapot" with actions, of course

People felt sorry for him, but he got a kick out of it. In the end, he found his present to be an electric edger--he's so into landscaping right now with the arrival of our four newest Sego Palms, just thought he might like it. Then yesterday at my sister-in-law's, we had cake, but for some reason, my cake fell apart. Still tasted good though.

My only regret is that of course we do not have a camera yet so I couldn't document the fun. I just can't find one I like, folks. I do NOT want one that takes regular batteries. I want a rechargeable flat battery I can plug into the wall. And I do NOT want a camera that has a long recharge time after-flash! Drives me nuts! Will someone just fix the camera I broke? Then I'll be so happy.

It's killing me that you haven't found a camera yet. I just want to go get you one so bad cause I know how hard it is to watch moments pass by without documentation! I'm keeping my eyes peeled and if I find a great deal I'll call ya, email, hire a sky writer, whatever it takes :-)
So when are we taking the family pics??????

Amie,
I know how frustrating it is to not have a camera. I have an extra one you can borrow until you get a new one if you like. I'ts very basic, but it's digital and it's better than nothing. I think it takes pretty good pictures. Let me know if you would like to borrow it. It's just collecting dust at the moment.

Hey about the camera, don't know why I never mentioned this before, but Ethan gets a discount on Panasonic things through his work. I am currently looking at a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3A. It is still small but has 7.2 mega pixels and a 10x zoom AND a rechargeable battery pack. I am SICK of recharging my batteries that last about 2 pictures. Let me know if you're interested in a Panasonic and maybe we can find a good deal for you.

We have the panisonic Lumix, and love it. And, the battery plugs into the wall! We got ours at Costco.

I will more than likely be there but I might be a bit late as I have a Crop party to go to. Are you looking for a camcorder or a Digital Camera? If it is a Dig. Camera then I really like my Sony DSC-H2. It is 6 mega pix and has a 12x Optical Zoom and also has a camcorder built in. It is really nice and I compared it to a Cannon (not the most expensive) but I liked the simplicity of it, the batteries charge fast and there isn't a long wait for the flash and the shutter speed is really good. So hope you find something!

Oh man, I hope your feeling better. Being sick is the worst. Hopefully you can find a camara soon. Hey did you maybe try a pawn shop. Lots of people get rid of good camara's and you can find a good deal.
