. . . last weekend and it was so much fun! It had been a while since we'd gone, I think over a year, so we were very excited to get up there and spend time with our friends. We were one child short this time around as Sean is in California visiting grandparents for a couple of weeks.
We went up to Christopher Creek campground. No, not real camping as I call it, but Dude's family preferred it this way, this time. I'm glad we went though-it was just gorgeous! Not only a great campground near the Payson area, but so nice having the Creek run through camp. The kids just loved it and it provided some great entertainment during our stay.
Later that night, we grouped for a rousing game of Clue. The kids got real into it.
Two folks who know how to ham it up for the camera.
Two words: Chea-Ter. Never play board games with this man.
The winner! (By default I might add, thanks to someone who will remain nameless, who prevented another person from winning who shall also remain nameless *cough, cough, ME, cough, cough*)
The next day we travelled to the city to pick up some ice and other odds n' ends. I should have known better, but I left one bag of snacky items out in the open. In it, my can of cocoa, granola bars, and other snacks. Came back to find it looking this way:
Can you believe that?
This little stinker had helped himself to some snacks while we were away.
He chewed thru the plastic lid on my canned cocoa!
Looks like I have some competition for World's Biggest Cocoa Fan. ;)
Ethan did plenty of things to make us laugh this weekend. Ask him to say "Pistachio" for you.
The kids got along pretty well and did lots of board games together.
And coloring.
Would you look at that face?
And those hands?!
Yep, we're having fun now!
The second day, we went back to the creek and this time, the boys (and one of the men I will hereafter refer to as Brother Cheater Dude) went swimming. Who knows how many leeches, toxins, and/or parasites they came back with. . . but they had some good cold fun.
The third day we took it easy due to it being Sunday, but we did lots more games and fun things at the camp. We're all pretty filthy and ready for a shower!
I on the other hand remained gorgeous the entire weekend and smelled like a fresh spring breeze. *snort!*
It was a much needed vacay from the heat with our high temps around 95ish (low in the 50s) with just a drip drop of rain each afternoon around 4. We'd like to go again sometime this summer and are open to suggestions for new places to camp. And this time, G-family, we go someplace wild!

Thanks for coming along with and humoring us! I'm glad you had fun. It was REAL camping. I mean come on. The restroom was really just a covered hole in the ground. So we didn't pishy in the woods. So what! :) I still looked pretty gross by the end which you captured so beautifully with your camera :) Aaah good times!
Amie your camping trip looked like heaps of fun. We brought a tent the other day so I can't wait to take the kids camping now :o)
Have a great weekend.
Hugs Amie xx
