the thanksgiving weekend

I know I'm a full week behind on this, but better late than never. I didn't edit the pictures until last night and by then, I was all consumed with my badge of courage.

The visit from my parents was a surprise to my kiddos. So when Grandma and Grandpa pulled up, I sent them directly to the back yard where the little howler monkeys were playing noisily on the trampoline. It took at least half a minute before they realized someone was in the back yard who did not quite belong.

My mom kept the kiddos busy with goody bags and treats, crafts and toys she'd collected for the visit.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Danny took on the huge job of installing floodlights in our backyard. He strung the wiring down through the attic and into the wall. By Monday, it was working perfectly, but all day Saturday, it was a mess!

Cameron was actually a huge help through it all!

The bird, in all it's basted glory.

Pay no attention to my crooked curtains.

On Sunday after church, we drove out to QC to visit my brother, sister-in-law, and their new house so large it needs it's own zip code. So gorgeous. And finger-print free. There we were treated to raw burgers (just like my brother likes them, *shudder*) and other yummy stuff, and HD DVDs on the big-screen LCD TV. Or something like that. All high-tech and muy macho.

It was a nice long holiday weekend. What better way to celebrate thankfulness than with family? =)

Don't forget to comment on any post between now and early next week when I'll hit 50,000 and give out blog candy! The more comments you make, the greater chance you'll have. Good luck.
