thank you, sister smith!

The last couple of weeks in church during singing time, Joanna has been teaching the kids the "Go the Second Mile" song, which is basically about doing more than asked, performing more service, being extra helpful around the house.

The lyrics:

When there is a task to do,
Do it with a smile.
Do more than you are asked to do
and go the second mile.

In your work and an in your play,
try it for a while.
You'll find that you'll be happy when
you go the second mile.

So yesterday I was doing laundry (as I mentioned) and I had the kids' clothes all set out on my bed in their piles. I usually call them in to take their piles and put them away, but I got interrupted in the middle and I wasn't able to finish. Anyway, when I came back to finish up the task, I noticed that Cameron's pile was gone.

"Cameron, did you put your laundry away?"

"Yep!"

"Awesome, Cam! You went the second mile!"

"Yep, and I did it with a smile!"

Thank you, Sister Smith!

I just got called as the Primary Chorister in my ward.

It's stressful! I have dreams/nightmares about it. Had one last night in fact. The dreams usually involve me not having enough time to practice our songs or not being prepared.

We have so many songs they need to know and not enough time to do it! Ah!

Yes, I am totally for hire!!! It makes me laugh to think that some of your fan base may be imagining me as a sweet, older, single "Sister" wearing all black with a habit (did I spell that right? you know the thing nuns wear on their head). I'm not exactly Whoopie Goldberg in Sister Act, but I do try to make it fun for the kids. Thanks for the thanks! You forgot to mention you are my AMAZING pianist who often adds notes that aren't even written into the song. Love you!
