For Family Home Evening last night, we talked about the importance of helping others and service.
How we can provide service to people we know or to strangers.
We can serve the neighborhood.
And help the planet while we're at it.
And it doesn't matter if anyone knows about it (though yes, I'm blogging about it!) or if we do it in secret-we do it to make others and Heavenly Father happy.
We cleaned up the park near our home, paying attention to even the littlest bits of trash and garbage that had accumulated in the grass and bushes.
And we had fun doing it. =)

What a great lesson. And if any of your boys are Wolves (I can't remember if your oldest is a Bear already) they just passed off achievement 7c...or something like that! ;D
Perfect! I am always picking up trash on our walks, I can't stand litter!!
Your a good momma!
Ah that was a good lesson littering drives me crazy...=-)
That's awesome! And what a great FHE idea.
Good stuff. My 3.5 year old is all about picking up trash. Sometimes I wish he would leave a few things on the ground. He apparently doesn't seem to care about germs!
Great idea. I will probably use it. Tammi
