For Sean's birthday this year, in lieu of a party, he chose to take one friend and go to Castles n' Coasters. Outside. In the 115 degree heat. We promised him it would be hot, but we planned ahead with water bottles and tokens for arcade games when they needed a break from the heat. Here are some pictures of his hot hot day.

This cool CTR ring is actually a gift from last year-we'd had a gift certificate to Deseret Book forever, and just last week redeemed it for this. The middle copper part comes out like a puzzle if you want it to. Though he'll likely just keep it together. He wears it on his middle finger now, where it fits better, and he'll be able to move it around as his hands grow. Hopefully he'll be able to wear it for a few years. Thanks Grandma H!
Nothing too special for the cake this year.
Then, after his friend had gone home, we went out to TGIF for dinner-where my camera's memory became full just as the staff came over to sing Happy Birthday to Sean.
I think he had a pretty great day!

I don't think I could stand to take my kids out in this heat! At least it didn't look too crowded. . .that's a plus, I guess.

I don't know how you guys handle that heat! It got up to 100 on Saturday here and I thought I was gonna DIE!!!! Hope it was a memorable day for Sean. Looks like fun fun fun.
I could definitely take the heat if it was a BIRTHDAY BASH. I just love birthdays. My mom must have been good at throwing birthdays because I just can't get enough of them. MORE BIRTHDAYS, I WANT MORE! (not mad but shouting happily)
