We don't get too excited around here about St. Patty's Day. I'm not much of a holiday decorator anyway, except for Christmas and Halloween.
But one think our kids do get a kick out of is green pancakes. Looks gross to me, but they love it.

I love this idea! I'm going to do this for my boys next year.
This year I cut my school aged sons sandwich into the shape of a shamrock and he had mint oreo's. That night we had dinner at a friends house, but I brought green Hawaiin punch and green jello over for the kids. Turns out nobody liked the drink, but the jello was yummy.
We don't celebrate the 'little' holidays either, but I enjoy making food to celebrate the holiday. You're a cool mama for making green pancakes!
i was up in butte, montana for st. patrick's day with my sister and, in that town, they go all out for the holiday!!! a big parade, houses decorated, irish menus at all the restaurants, and a big irish cultural festival that evening at the civic center. but no green pancakes - i'll have to pass that idea on to them!
corned beef and cabbage dinner that night and home made corned beef hash and eggs the next morning. Yummy :)
