juuuust the right amount of snow

So a long time ago, eons ago, weeks and weeks and weeks ago, last year, we went up to Taylor to visit Dan's brother's family.  They'd lived up there for a year and we still hadn't gotten the chance to visit them, and Dan had a few days off straight, so we went ahead and did it.  :)

They have two little girls age 2 1/2 and 3 1/2, but despite the age difference, my boys had so much fun with them.IMG_0135

For whatever reason, we started off the visit with Cameron doing chores.

I don't know who that child is, or where he came from, but he was all about vacuuming and sweeping and working up a sweat doing service.  Nice!

IMG_0131 We played some games and took some pictures and every time I did something as innocent as walk from one room to another, I had to stop to catch my breath.

That whole thin-air-upper-elevation thing ain't no joke.

We played some Buckin' Bronco.

Which got crazy.

We did some photo-bombing.

He's lucky he's cute.

IMG_0226 IMG_0220 We taught Alan and Kelly how to play Song Pop on our devices.  Many an hour was spent on that!

We went to church with them on Sunday, then spent the afternoon with our friends the Clarks who live right up the street.  They treated us to chocolate chip cookies and more games and fun.  (not a picture to be taken, boo!)

Later on, we played a rousing game of cranium!

How rousing, you ask?

And to the winners, go the dancing rights!

The next morning. . .

We woke up to this!

IMG_0313  The kids were so excited, because although they've been in snow before, they've never seen it fall before.  IMG_0280 IMG_0286

At this point, I was glad I'd brought every jacket we owned.  The snow was nice and soft and powdery, so that helped too.  We didn't get too wet.

IMG_0290 But we sure did have fun!

We came inside, and by the time we were dried off and packed up, the snow on the roads had melted, and we decided that had been just the right amount of snow.  Cuz who wants to drive in that?  Yuck.

From there, we went to the temple in Snowflake, which is about five minutes away.

So pretty!

Then came the adventure of driving home!

Halfway to Heber it started snowing, and it didn't stop until Payson.

Double yuck.

I am SO GLAD Danny was driving and not me.

IMG_0157It's pretty, but I don't want to drive in that.

After much white-knuckling of my armrest, and about 50 pages of Harry Potter 6, we made it down the mountain safe and sound.

What a nice 2-3 days out of town visiting with family we don't get to see near often enough!  Thanks, Alan and Kelly for hosting, we had a wonderful time!

Looks like fun! I had to laugh at the picture of you and Dan - your sweater perfectly matches the pillow? behind you.
