mark 10:13-14, 16

"And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God...And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them."

When your children are in your arms, they are no longer underfoot.

I have that lovely quote on my fridge to help remind me to love when I'm feeling frustrated, listen when they need to be heard, play when they need to be the children they are, and hug them when moments get tense. They are growing up before my eyes, all too fast. It's like that song, "Then they do" by Trace Atkins...tears me up every time I hear it. These precious moments are so fleeting. This scripture and quote help me to remember they won't always be small enough to bundle up and tickle and plaster with kisses. Well, they might get too big for it, but I never will.
