yesterday

Yay! I got my early birthday present! A half-sized guitar, used, but in pretty good shape. (My other guitar was just too darn big for my freakishly little girl hands--thus I have a full-sized traditional acoustic guitar up for sale if anyone is interested. I just have to add a string.) I still don't have any clue what I'm doing, but I am determined to reteach myself this year. Anyone have any tips? I have a book, but I swear, some of these chords just don't work right. Yah...it's the book that's the problem.

Boo! We have been out of dish detergent going on three days now and I have had to wait until tonight for grocery shopping. I think I did eight mini loads of hand-washed dishes yesterday. I sooooo would have stunk at being a pioneer.

Yay! The school bus finally started coming for Ethan!! Yes, all along, he has not been on a bus route. Very frustrating that first week as I packed all my chitlins into the van to drop off and pick up Ethan from preschool. But last week, he just had to miss school because we're still out of a truck and Dan has been taking the van to work. Ethan was so glad to go back to school. I was pretty ecstatic too.

Boo! I finally finished "Wuthering Heights". Don't volunteer to read this ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever. It's horrid. How in the world this ever became to be a classic, I'll never know. Everyone is mean and crazy and dies at the first hint of a cold. Ugh. I guess perhaps the last 20 pages weren't bad, but still...Heathcliff ends up being totally in love with and buried with his practically adopted sister. Eww. I do not recommend this to anyone. That was 5 days of my life I'll never get back. (Yah, read the 600 pages "Twilight", etc in about 8 hours each, took me 5 days to get through Emily Bronte. Don't read it ever ever ever ever....)

Yay! Mr. Postman (hey hey Mr. Postman!) delivered my latest Ebay win: the Chess Broadway Sheet Music Book! Call me the biggest nerd in existence, but I luh-hove this play. Love the music. And now, I can play it on my very own piano and belt it out when no one's lookin'!

Boo! Yesterday, it was hot. Officially, the record-breaking 113 degrees yesterday made it the 29th time this year we've gotten to 110 or more. Ick!

Yay! We made no bake cookies again last night for FHE treat. And they sound like a rather healthy breakfast--oats, peanut butter, milk...sure, maybe just one. Or two. What the heck, I can always make more.

I knew you would hate that book! I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I seriously hated it! I have no idea why it's a classic! I suppose it's who you are, not what you write! She was a Bronte, I guess that's all it took! It was so depressing and dark. Very disappointing. I'm seriously glad I'm not the only one that thought it stunk!

Oh ladies, I'll give it to you that the writing is dry and the many names are confusing and yes Heath is a wack job, but it's such a tragic love triangle! For the time period it was written believe it or not that plot was and writing style was very hot! Plus given that Miss Bronte was completly surrounded by death (her mother died when she was 2, two sisters and her brother died before her, she died at 30, never married). Having been a lit major I can say that the books that end up in the classic cannon do so because of the tragic story/author. It's not my favorite by any means(took me 2 months to get through it and write my paper), but read a little Henry James and I promise you old Em will be your buddy. LOL

I have to tell you something about "the secret" it's the law of attraction - and your no-bake cookies are not fatning if you don't think they are...so look at them as healthy - and hey, OATMEAL? I mean - really - that IS good for you! LOL!

Separately - sounds like a dumb book! Thanks for that review...but I do have to ask, if it stunk so badly, why did you keep reading it? LOL! I started reading a book last night - I read the first 3 chapters and thought - if she can't catch my attention by now, she doesn't deserve it! I can't tell you the book, though, because everyone else in the world LOVED it! LOL! Guess I'm picky!

Did you read Wuthering Heights because Bella always mentioned it in the book? I rented Mansfield Park because of that. Anyhoo, I was wondering how you get new templates for your blog, being as computer savvy as I am, you'd think I know and everyone seems to have their own cute one now, but I have no clue how they do it.

with the guitar- just keep forcing your fingers into position. The more time you spend like that the more natural it will become. I'm actually planning on picking up mine again as well. I miss it.
