high and low

So last night, I went to upload my latest singing video for my masses of fans out there (umm, I mean, my mom), but Google Video was throwing a tantrum like a little two-year old now and wouldn't let me. And for some reason every time I use Blogger to upload a video, it shows up twice and just the fact that I can't solve WHY is terribly annoying. Thus I am boycotting Blogger's video uploader. Anyway, I finally gave up and am trying it again this morning.

Here's one of my latest. It was late, a couple of nights ago, the kids had gone to bed. I had eaten several peanut butter cookies minutes prior so my breath smelled like peanut butter and my fingers were greasy. I was not looking cute. In fact, this is usually what I wear to bed every night. A shirt and my husband's blue sweatpants that I have permanently stolen from him. Wanna know why? Because he insists on sleeping with the fan on, the window open, and everything all like 50 degrees and such so he can cuddle up in his blankets and feel cozy. Never mind that his wife has had a head cold for 2 weeks and counting now, but...'whatevs' as Michael Scott would say. (Shout out to all my "Office" homies, I am officially hooked, just started season 3)

So again, it was the end of the day, my makeup is long gone, hair is up and the aforementioned cold is giving me anything BUT a sexy singing voice a la Phoebe. (Shout out to all my "Friends" homies. Oh Chandler, Joey, Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, and Monica, how I miss you)

This is "High and Low" from Greg Laswell. I love it. Unfortunately, thanks to my mom's genes I have a very very low voice. Seriously, I can hit some/most of the men's bass notes in choir. That means that most of the songs I can hit in my range are sung by men. I sound rediculous singing women's songs...I just can't do it. So yes, this song is sung from a man's perspective. Just forget that and pretend that all the male references are changed to females and such. I first heard this song on a "Smallville" episode, the one where Lois and Oliver break up. It was so very sad and so was I. Oliver was a cutie. Hopefully he'll come back as the Green Arrow. (Shout out to all my "Smallville" homies? Are there any of you? I think I want to have Clark Kent's children--can I just say hummina hummina hummina...)

OK. I may have to admit that I watch way too much TV.

Ahhhhhhh I'm soooo glad that you have converted to the Office. I just love that show so much and now you'll understand when we say random things like "I'll bring the stapler jello" and when we laugh at George Forman grills.

That is a pretty song. My computer was acting goofy this morning when I went to watch it and couldn't for some reason. But I can now. We borrowed the Office past seasons from a friend this summer and we're hooked too.
"Oh D!"
