a little funny for you on this saturday

So our taxes are done. Yeehaw! We haven't owed, I don't think, EVER, but it's still nervewracking to do them...especially since I work from home and do the whole daycare thing...you just never know when the government is gonna stick out it's hand, right?

Couple things we're putting tax money towards this year:

a) new kitchen chairs
b) a new church suit for Danny

Those kitchen chairs have been slowly dying off since 2 months after we moved into this house--and they were new then, 6 years ago. One by one they have perished until we are left with I think two of the original 6? I mentioned this to my mom who said they went thru at least 4 sets while all us kids were at home, so that doesn't make me feel so bad.

And the suit...get this. Dan's had this suit ever since I've known him. In the back of my mind, I recall him saying that he'd had it since his LDS mission of two years to Argentina from 94-96, but I guess I'd forgotten that over time. I'd mend it and hem it, fix the stitching here and there, but finally, we decided, it was just time to put this particular suit out to pasture.

So we started doing the math...we've been married 10 years, so I knew it was at least that old. With the recollection that he'd had it since his mission, that put it at 14 years old. Then he reminded me that this particular suit was a hand-me-down from his brother from HIS mission to Ecuador years earlier. Come to find out this suit is SEVENTEEN years old. Can you believe that this one outfit has withstood two missionaries pounding the pavement? If that suit could talk...it's seriously amazing that it made it past Mike's mission, let alone Dan's, let alone 11 more years!! It's time!!!

So come 2-3 weeks, we'll be suit shopping. ;)

On that note, and not that anyone is interested, but I'm just gonna throw out there in case anyone needs anything to do tomorrow or if you find yourself bored or say, in need of an outing, that you might just wanna head on down to the LDS church off of Sarival and Greenway tomorrow around, say, noonish to hear yours truly and my better, stronger, taller half give talks in sacrament meeting. But if you have other plans, that's cool. I'm already shaking with nervousness and anxiety. So if you wanna see Amie looking anything but cool, come on over.

Speaking in public is not one of my strong points.

If I didn't have a meeting to go to after church...how 'bout this? I'll send my folks down there to listen and give me a little run down on how it went. LOL, you will be wonderful! If James did it, anyone can!

I am more impressed that he still fits in the suit after that long!

Good luck on your talks! The worst thing that could happen is they don't ask you again! ;)

You'll do awesome. You know you will. Who's sittin' with the kiddos? They can come hang with my clan on our pew or I'm sure Karli will sit with them. Let us know :)

yayayayayay for getting it all done early!
we've never owed, either. I'm scared to think that it might happen one of these days.
