mommy and the boys day of fun!

...said in my most nasally 'Janice' voice...and if you don't know who Janice is, first, climb out from the rock you've been living under the last 10 years and second, watch this brief "Friends" clip.

It was MLK day yesterday and with Danny working and no daycare kiddos, we had a full day that I deemed "Mommy and the boys DAY OF FUN!"  We started out by making breakfast--Sean made scrambled eggs, Ethan made pillsbury cinnamon rolls, and Cameron peeled and sectioned oranges.  It was fun that the kids all got into their respective jobs.  And no major spills, burns, or catastrophes.  Breakfast:  success.

From there, we went to Walmart and a Redbox DVD machine to get our free Monday rental and the kids picked out snacks for the movie time to happen later.

Then onto a park for some fun in the lovely 75+ degree weather.

Then, back home for some cool down time, a movie, and our snacks.

The movie was "Speed Racer", and I was surprised that the kids lost interest at about half-way through.

The outside was beckoning to them, so we turned on the sprinklers (yeah, seriously, in January, can you believe it?) and they played in the water on the trampoline.

After that, naturally they were hungry again, so we had ice cream as a cool down snack.  =)

After this, we wrote our weekly letter to Grandma Faulkner who is serving an LDS mission in Toronto, Canada.  Then, we drove out to the post office, dropped a movie off at the library, tried (and failed) to buy some CVS deals, tried (and failed) to deliver some goodies to a lady I visiting teach, bought gas, and picked up 2 large pizzas for dinner tonight courtesy of Hungry Howie's.

It's been a busy day--this is my kid who gave up naps about 6 months ago.

Then, dinner on the trampoline.

We were supposed to play board games after this, but I was pretty spent by 6:30!  It was still a great day to be together and have fun {I've promised Danny his own Day of Fun tomorrow when he's off for a dental appointment} and Sean even, at one point said, "This is the best day of my life." !!!  Well, I guess when you have low expectations to start with...  ;)

Wow, I wish you were my mom. My friend had to drag me out of the house, it feels like Spring we needed to be CLEANING. So, we spent three hours at the park with a picnic and all. I love NO SCHOOL days!!

Your boys are so big! It is fun to see what old friends are up to. What a fun day with the boys, I should try to do that myself more often!
