bits and pieces of life...and peanut butter, always peanut butter

This post will be just a summary of this past week. I had a wicked cold and so I apologize for the lack of interesting posts. Between that and school, I was swamped. And mucousy.

First off, props to the Arizona Cardinals who did what no one thought they could do. They lost the SuperBowl, but literally only in the last couple of minutes. It was an exciting game right to the finish!

Next, I wanted to sum up my January goals. This year, they were simple: lose 5 pounds and create 5 layouts. I'm pleased to announce I lost 12 pounds in January and created 11 layouts, 3 cards, 1 mini album, and 1 altered project (and a partridge in a pear tree). Yay! Goooooo me!

Did one more layout last week (I totally lifted this from a layout I saw on the Thickers website):

My A&P class is going well, although it's set up is a bit different than Biology was. I have timed tests that I have to take periodically. I stress and stress about these like nobody's business. It's ridiculous really. But for example, I had one this week that I put off and put off so I could cram and study and be sure I knew my stuff. It was a 25 question test on histology and tissues, and I was only given 13 minutes to take it. So really, you know it or you don't. I swear my heart was pounding as I took it and my blood pressure rose 100 points. (Is that possible? I don't know...I haven't gotten to the cardiology units yet.) Anyway, I aced it with 100%. Then I laughed at myself, rolled my eyes, and nearly passed out with relief. Why do I stress myself out so much?!

My friend Lorie is hosting a 2 week giveaway in February with all sorts of cool things you can enter to win: so far, hair clippies and awesome chunky jewelry. Go on over and check it out!

In other news, we saw "Inkheart" Saturday night and really enjoyed it! I wouldn't say it's necessarily a kids' movie, but definitely a family movie, if there is such a difference. A couple of scenes are pretty intense, but with a PG rating (and with Brendan Fraser, ooh la la) I was very happy with our choice. Check it out--very original plot!

What did you do this weekend?

Yay Amie! I can't believe you lost that much weight in a month. I think I gained that much this month. I really need to get back out and exercise. It's just so dang cold. Sounds like a great weekend. I'm glad you are doing well in school and got rid of that awful cold.

Wow! Congrats on surpassing your goals! That is amazing! But I think I know where the 12 lbs you lost went! It found me! ;P

Inkheart is on our list of movies to see at some point. Thanks for the review.

You are so good to set goals for yourself. I need to be better at that. I think my first goal will be to finish off the chocolate chip cookies that are calling my name....
