hardee har har

I was taking dinner to my friends Chris and James Monday, (as I do once each week because she is horribly sick with morning sickness and permanent nausea as is custom for her entire 9 months of pregnancy), and I was hurrying a bit because I was a tad later than I'd planned. I crossed an intersection and happened to look up at my rearview mirror and yup, you guessed it, red and blue lights signaling that I needed to pull over.

The cop told me he'd paced me at going 50 mph in a 35 zone (which means I must have been really out of it because I hadn't even noticed him behind me or anywhere near me) and took my information. I wasn't freaking out too much because I've never gotten a speeding ticket before (only pulled over one other time for speeding when I was 18 and given a warning at that) and I just figured, well, if I got a ticket, I deserved it.

The policeman came back less than a minute later after checking my goods (take that any way you'd like!) and told me to just slow down. I smiled and thanked him and continued on my way.

When I got to my Chris's home, I parked and proceeded to pull out the bowls and plates that I'd prepared only to find that one of the lids hadn't sealed right and there was now lemon pudding spilled all over the other dishes. Fortunately everything was in a plastic bag and I had a kitchen towel nearby, so the mess was limited to just the dishes and the bag, however I became a sticky mess trying to clean up the yummy/ruined lemon pudding so I could get the meatloaf and salad inside. I was so focused on that, that I neglected to mention anything to them about my little detour along the way.

Later, when we were texting, I told them about the situation.

The next day when they came to pick up their daughter from daycare, James brought me this in honor of my lead foot.

Ho ho. Ha ha.

Everyone's a comedian.

You need to give a little "thank you" glance to that lovely union sticker on the back of your van. It just saved you some mula. Professional courtesy is a lovely thing. :-)

He was just so proud of his joke, he told me right when when he walked in the door, "guess what I did." Thanks again for all of your help, your dinners have been a huge help and blessing. Glad you only got a warning, I think the new hair helped too.
