book butterfly returns

But looks to be a bit in hibernation mode as I hardly read anything last month. December's gonna be just as busy around here, and then Nursing School starts in January, so I'm sure reading for pleasure will be out. Best get in what I can while I can.

Grip of the Shadow Plague (Fablehaven #3) by Brandon Mull didn't like itdidn't like it

This probably deserves a higher rating but I completely lost interest in the whole series at about half-way through. I'm done with it for a while.

Take Me Home (Hearts of the Children #4) by Dean Hughes didn't like itdidn't like itdidn't like it

Well after weeks I finally finished this, but not because I didn't like it. I've just been too busy to read. At this point in the series, we're still following 4 cousins, and a LOT happens to them. I like where the plot is going and I like where the author is taking the characters. I also like that not everyone's story is happy happy perfect fairy tale ending; it seems more realistic. Of course there still is one book left and I'm sure everything will be tied up nicely.

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks didn't like itdidn't like itdidn't like itdidn't like it

Ooh this was so sweet. It took me a long time to read it because I haven't been reading much lately, but once I finally sat down with the intent to finish, I became thoroughly enveloped in the story.
It's about Katie who has left an abusive husband and made a new identity for herself in a small town. She falls in love with Alex who is a widower and father of two young children. Romance follows, but light and sweet. Meanwhile, Katie's former husband is trying to track her down and kill her.
*light spoiler*
I really liked the ending. Nicholas Sparks is famous for having 2 things happen in his books and I am happy to say that neither happens in this one.

And uhh, sadly, that was it for me this month! I do love to read but haven't made it much of a priority lately. How about you. . . anything good?

Winter is my reading time. I'm to busy outside in the spring and summer. I loved the Dean Hughes series. After this series he writes the ending of Kathy's story. It's not the best book, but it's a good wrap up of her life.

So the Nicholas Sparks book doesn't have anyone die? And the main character is happy in the end? I love the way he writes but his books always make me so sad and then I wonder why I torture myself with them.
I haven't been reading much at all lately. I hope to read "The Handmaid and the Carpenter" soon, its sitting there waiting to be read.
