He played piano and sang the song I wrote (and performed here).
The mic system at the school wasn't great, so I didn't even bother trying to video it using my camera--and my camera can only video 2 minutes worth at a time before the memory card is full (I had major envy watching the woman in front of me record the entire show on her phone)--but I wanted to detail the fact that he did great!
He had so much fun learning it, playing it, memorizing it, practicing it, and performing it. This and drama club in general have really helped him come out of his shell, so much so that he said next year he wanted to be one of the MC's. (I hope not, they're not nearly as interesting as all the talent on the stage, but whatever he's interested in I suppose...)
Anyway, I finally got around to videotaping him performing this and spliced the video together so you can see how my kid is the most talented in the world. :)

he did do such a great job! of course, i could only hear, not see, it since i was backstage. from that perspective, though, i have to say he was very quiet and respectful back there (so many of the performers were not - i had to get quite crabby that evening!)
what a brave kid, that's awesome!! Are you his piano teacher? His future wife is going to LOVE his talent! He's looking so old, it's crazy. :)
