what the talent show never saw

The talent show went well, thanks for all who inquired and all who gave me suggestions on what scrapbook pages to take. I had a lot of fun! There were some great acts including a lil 5 yr old who belted out this awesome song by Martina McBride, a tap-dancer, a soloist, jitter-buggers, ballerinas, guitar players, and more. On the tables were displayed beautiful portraits, art pieces, quilts, oragami and architectual designs and so much more. I was in good company. Talented folks.

Now. I'm gonna do something so retarded. And I swear if any of you tease me, I'm going to take this off. But the following video is what I wanted to do for the talent show and didn't. I even practiced for around 2 weeks prior to the sign up deadline and finally I decided I wasn't brave enough to do it. But, I'm brave enough to post it here for the entire world wide web to see. Go figure. I'm blushing even as I type this. This way, I don't have to see your faces or sweat in front of you. Hee hee. OK, so I'm singing and it's long, near 4.5 minutes, so feel free to skip it. But if I'm bad, don't tell me ok?

Ladies and gentlemen...Amie...singing, "Boston" by Augustana.

OMGosh... You totally rock sister. For real, I had chills when I heard you sing. It just amazes me how many people have so much talent and so many people never see it. You should be so proud. I would love to be able to sing and not have my dog howl and my husband laugh. You are really great.

You are not only a super talent, but also it was very brave to post on your page. You sounded terrific. But you always did, even when we were kids and you sent me tapes of you singing.

WOW, girl. You are really good. Not only talented but can sing also. I think you would have done wonderful if you would have sang and played the piano. Way to go.

Amie! That was amazing; it gave me goose bumps. I love to hear you play the piano because i can really hear your love for making music. Someday when I have some time you'll have to sign me up for lessons, I've always wanted to learn how to play. I tried for about a year when I was 10 but I was more into being a kid then practicing. And, no I haven't heard anything about the job yet. Thank you for asking! It meant a lot!

*insert applaudes here* OMG how good are you!!!! I loved it, what a beautiful talented person you are. I watched it twice I loved it so much... Great Job you should be very proud of yourself even if you couldn't get up in public, at least you have it on your blog as a special memory. I am going to watch it again then I am going back to bed it is 4.45am and Brie woke up for a feed at 4am so I was laying there and couldn't go back to sleep... The new bed is great so much room, Mia got in there about 1am and we still have lots of room.....

OMG. That's cool.Well it was the thought. Maybe next year. Sounds good.
I used a piece of paper that had it and I cut it off there and pasted in on the cardstock to the stock, Rub ons , epoxy stickers and the other wording behind the photo is another piece of paper I chopped up...

I don't know how people play piano and sing at the same time. I'm not that coordinated. Sounded great!

I thought that was GREAT! A lot better than some of the songs on American Idol this year...no joke! Maybe we'll see you on AI someday. Thanks for visiting my blog and for posting a link so I could listen to your song.

With acrylic stamps you do no cutting, they are already pre-cut for you, you just slap them on an acrylic block, ink like a regular stamp and go! They are really fun.

WOW--Amie! You so should have entered that in the talent show. It was great! I have sung in front of people many times so I know it's hard, but if you could do it and post it on your blog, you could do it in front of a crowd. You just have to pretend they aren't there ;). I hope you get up the nerve soon!
